Library Director at Cretin-Derham Hall High School
Position: Library Director – Cretin-Derham Hall High School
Description: Cretin-Derham Hall is a Catholic coeducational high school serving 1225 students in grades 9-12. CDH is cosponsored by the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. CDH is located in the city of Saint Paul, MN and students come from Saint Paul, as well as the south, east and north suburbs of the Twin Cities.
The library director guides and directs all activities related to the library program, including evaluation, acquisition, circulation and inventory of resources, information literacy planning and instruction, and staff supervision. Working with teachers to identify curricular needs and learning outcomes, the director will coordinate and teach the necessary skills to utilize print and digital information resources. The director also fosters reading through collection development, preparation and delivery of book talks, and coordination of a student book club. The director serves in a leadership position with other department heads, under the leadership of the principal.
This is a full-time position. The work schedule follows that of the school’s academic calendar.
· Masters in Library and Information Science, ALA accredited program preferred
· MN Licensed media specialist, K-12 required
· Teaching experience preferred
· Experience working in a school library environment with knowledge of library processes and protocols preferred
· Strong administrative skills for planning, budgeting, training, supervising, and coordinating all program aspects.
