25th Annual Hubbs Childrenʹs Literature Conference!

Thereʹs still time to register for the 25th Annual Hubbs Childrenʹs Literature
Conference!
When: Saturday, February 18; 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Thornton Auditorium, University of St. Thomas (Minneapolis Campus)
Cost: $20 students; $60 general admission (Buffet lunch and parking included in
registration.)
Designed for anyone interested in the use of quality childrenʹs literature in schools and communities.
The Hubbs Childrenʹs Literature Conference offers attendees a
chance to hear authors Sharon Draper and Marian Hassan discuss their creative
process and get energized and inspired by ways they can promote reading in
classrooms and other educational se5ings.
In addition to breakout sessions by the featured authors, the conference will also
include breakout sessions by:
Dr. Heather Bouwman, author of two fantasy novels for children (including A
Crack in the Sea) and a professor of English at the University of St. Thomas
Tracy Nelson Maurer, author of more than 100 informational books, ranging
from pre-kindergarten A-B-C books to middle/upper-grade hi-low titles on
crafts, sports cars, extreme sports, cheerleading and other fun topics.
Donna Nix, Childrenʹs Literature and Curriculum Librarian at the Charles J.
Keffer Library on the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis campus
Red Balloon Bookshop will sell presentersʹ books as well as other popular childrenʹs
book titles.
