Alma Migration Intern with St. Thomas

The University of St. Thomas Collection Management & Services department seeks one intern to work with our department staff on the migration of our library system (Millennium) to Ex Libris’ Alma.  This implementation is in conjunction with the other CLIC schools and would provide valuable and rare experience learning about a library system implementation.  The position would shadow the Co-Chair of the project, as well as work with the acquisitions, serials, and/or e-resources teams to review data, configure the new system, and test functionality.  Alma is a widely-adopted “next generation” system, and experience with a migration to this system is highly marketable!  This is an unpaid internship, or we welcome practicum students interested in shaping a project.  An interest in library systems work and/or data is a plus, as well as facility with Excel and an ability to jump into a project already under way.  This position is available now, and could last through May 2017 if there is interest. Duration is negotiable, 8-20 hours per week, M-F, 8-6.
Please email with a brief description of yourself, your interest, any skills you would bring to the project, and your availability to: Meg Manahan, Associate Director for Collection Management & Services, mkmanahan@stthomas.edu.
