Their talk is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Room 017, CdC.

In their presentation, they will present what they learned regarding: What do college students think about their own skills in information literacy? Do they value credible and quality research? Are they overestimating their abilities to conduct research and use it effectively?

Using the New MLIS Student Website

The MLIS Program’s website in Kateway has been decommissioned as part of a university-wide transition to a new system. The new system will be easier to access, more attractive and use a responsive design which enables it to work well with mobile devices and tablets. We have also reorganized and edited the content included based on student feedback.

To access the new student resource pages, visit the MLIS Program’s public website at:

If you look to the left-hand side of the page under the navigation menu, you will see a purple “Login” button. When you click the login button, a new tab will open asking for your St. Kate’s login and password. You will use the same login/password that you use for your email, D2L and other St. Kate’s resources.

Once you enter your password and login, you should see a page notifying you that you have logged in successfully and now have the ability to view private content. You can close that tab, return to the tab showing the MLIS Program’s website and click the browser’s refresh button to reload the page.

Once you reload the page, you should see new items shown on the left-hand navigation menu related to calendars and schedules, advising and other related resources for students. Some items have been moved or consolidated to improve the site’s usability. A small number of pages which were very rarely visited and/or no longer necessary were removed.

If you have any feedback regarding the new site or are having issues accessing it, please contact Nick Steffel at

MLIS Website Transition

We are in the process of migrating the MLIS Program's internal Kateway website into a new system. During this transitional period the old Kateway site will no longer work or may display an error message if you try to access it.
The new site will be integrated into the main website. Once completed, you should be redirected from Kateway to the new site and be able to find all of the same content formerly located there. More information on accessing and using the new site will be provided next week as it is taken live.
We understand that the timing is not ideal as registration begins next week and we do appreciate your understanding. If the website is not ready in time, information on the fall schedule will be made available in some other form.
