The MLIS Program of St. Catherine University is delighted to announce that Dr. Anthony Molaro will be joining the MLIS faculty in August 2013. Dr. Molaro is a self-styled “librarian, information activist, technologist, and social media strategist.” He comes to St. Kate’s from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL, where he has served as Association Dean of Library and Instructional Technology since November 2011. Dr. Molaro is also an experienced public library director, technical services department head, academic librarian, and grant writer. Molaro has also served as an adjunct instructor at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL (2010 – present), where he taught classes related to acquisitions, cataloging and classification procedures, and metadata encoding schema. In 2011 he was named a “Mover and Shaker” by the Library Journal. Dr. Molaro completed both his Master’s in Library and Information Science (2008) and his PhD at Dominican University (2012). Nationally, he is a member of ALA (LITA and LLAMA), ALISE, ASIST; and he was inducted into the international library and information science honor society, Beta Phi Mu (ВΦΜ).
